0 Howard Pond Road, Hanover, Maine
0 Howard Pond Road, Hanover, Maine 04237 - Mount Dimmock Forest offers a bird's eye view of the Androscoggin River Valley in western Maine. The property is a scenic mountain retreat with good internal access and several potential building sites. Mount Dimmock is the highest point in the small town of Hanover where the property rests on the mountain's southern slope. Bethel Village is less than ten miles away. The topography of the forest is primarily moderately sloping with flat areas near the road and very steep portion near the summit. The best opportunities to locate a home or camp are from the roadside up to the parcel's center. Water drains across the property from north to south. Small feeder streams that flow from the upper slopes vary in volume depending on seasonal run-off. With a southeast facing aspect, the forest enjoys full sun for long hours each day. The forest supports well-stocked stands of mixed species in pole and sapling sizes. About half the property is mixedwood stands with hemlock, spruce, fir and some pine mixed with maple, birch and poplar. The balance of the forest is populated with hardwoods, notably birch, beech and oak.
